Reflection 7.15.15

I’m going to speak to you simply as a pastor, as one who, together with his people, has been learning the beautiful but harsh truth that the Christian faith does not cut us off from the world but immerses us in it; the church is not a fortress set apart from the city. The church follows Jesus, who lived, worked, struggled, and died in the midst of a city, in the polis.

~Archbishop Oscar Romero

One Response to Reflection 7.15.15

  1. Here is the question. HOW do we participate in The Great Commission? We must let go of ourselves so we can draw closer to Him. “Just as I am”, we first must come back home. As we draw nearer to “our place” in His house, we need trust that He knows how to parent us so that we can go back out into the world, and return, bringing others home with us. They too are predestined and waiting for us to find them.
