IPC Member Ann Closs-Farley Wins Ovation Award

01/13/2010

Ann Closs-Farley, choir member and sometime artist-in-residence at Immanuel, has won an Ovation Award.  She took the prize for costume design in an intimate theater for the show Ken Roht’s Calendar Girl at the Bootleg Theater.

The Ovation Awards are a Southern California award for excellence in theatre, established in 1989. They are given out by the Los Angeles Stage Alliance and are distinct from other Los Angeles theatre awards, and virtually all other theatre awards in the United States, by being 100% peer-judged by active theatre professionals in the Greater Los Angeles area. They have been called the “…highest-profile contest for local theatre…” by the Los Angeles Times.  Each year the Ovation Awards draw national attention to the quality and quantity of professional theatre in Los Angeles.
