Finding Your Voice –
Singing with Confidence!

Part of the beauty of Immanuel is the tapestry of varied and unique souls gathered to love God and each other. Let us make a joyful noise to God by weaving our varied and unique voices!

In the Finding Your Voice classes, Music Director Ed Murray will lead us toward EVEN  MORE meaningful worship of God. People of all ages are welcome, regardless of skill level or experience.

Come to a FOUR week, bilingual class beginning May 20th from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. in Chichester Chapel

Young Adults Driving Prayer Tour 2.19.11

meet at Immanuel at 7:30 pm

This month we are going to focus on praying for the city. On February 19th, we will be meeting at the church @ 7:30 to do a driving prayer tour. We will drive around the city, discuss and pray for issues and concerns regarding poverty, education, crime & food. We would love for you to join us. If you are coming, please let us know so we can arrange to have enough people to present the tour. (and make sure we have enough cars/drivers). We hope you can make it!!! I estimate that the tour itself will take about an hour to an hour and a half… So we will be done around 9 or so. Also, if you would like to get dinner beforehand, let us know. Some of us are already talking about getting something to eat prior to meeting for the tour!

Young Adults Lunch 4.25.10

This weekend is already the fourth week of the month and you know what that means: The Young Adults of Immanuel will be meeting this Sunday, the 25th of April for lunch following worship. There is a restaraunt that has been given fun reviews and recommended to us by Frank, Elizabeth and others from the church that say we should try it out.  It is called “The Bounty” and it is located just a couple blocks down from the church on Wilshire (3357 Wilshire Boulevard).

Again, lets meet at the convivio following worship and then we can walk or carpool down to the restaraunt (actually it seems easier to walk.)  And feel free to invite your friends.  This is a friendly group where we can get to know each other and plan future events for the months ahead.

Upcoming Young Adult Gatherings

Young Adult Hike:  Saturday, March 27, Runyon Canyon
With this great weather we are having, wouldn’t it be great for a little sun and some fun! On Saturday, March 27, the young adults will be gathering for a hike through Runyon Canyon. We will meet at 10:00 am at the church and caravan over to do the hike. Runyon Canyon is located in the Santa Monica mountains.  The trail is three miles, and is great for a beginner or an advanced hiker. Once we have worked up an appetite we can get some lunch, and have time for some fellowship.

Young Adult Lunch:  Sunday, March 28, Denny’s
The young adults will also be meeting for lunch after worship on Sunday, March 28, at Denny’s.  There we will be able to chat about more events that we would like to plan together in the months ahead.  We will meet in the Convivio following worship and then will caravan to Denny’s located only a few blocks from Immanuel at 635 S. Vermont (between Sixth and Vermont).  We hope to see you there!

Young Adults Gathering 2.28.10

Immanuel’s young adults gathered for  an authentic  Mexican meal  at La Parrilla this past Sunday.  While feasting, fellowship consisted of getting acquainted and brainstorming ideas for future activities.   We also discussed the possibility of making the young adults lunch a monthly event following worship service each 4th Sunday of the month.

The next young adults gathering which is in the planning stages is a hike in Runyon Canyon on March 27th.
