Welcome College Students 2012 + Bienvenidos Estudiantes de la Universidad 2012
03/08/2012For the past several years we have had college groups stay with us during their spring breaks. Each of them comes to LA to participate in community service with local agencies, primarily AIDS Project Los Angeles. They all are eager to do things for Immanuel as well. Over the next 2 weeks we will also have groups from Southern Methodist University, Florida International University and 2 groups from Princeton University. One of the Princeton groups will be working with The Healing Center. We are very pleased to be able to host these students who are giving of their time to help others.
Durante los últimos hemos tenido grupos aquí durante sus vacaciones de primavera. Cada uno de ellos viene a LA para participar en servicio a la comunidad con agencias locales, principalmente AIDS Project Los Angeles. También están entusiastas para hacer algo para Immanuel. Durante las próximas 2 semanas también tendremos grupos de la Universidad Southern Methodist, Florida International University y dos grupos de la Universidad Princeton. Uno de los grupos de Princeton estará trabajando con el Centro de Bienestar. Estamos muy contentos con poder hospedar estos estudiantes que están donando su tiempo para ayudar a otros.

Have you ever wondered what’s up in the tower, how the Sanctuary light bulbs are changed or what’s under the Sanctuary? Well, now you have a chance to find out! We’re going to climb the tower, go to the Boiler Room and crawl under Sanctuary. This is a chance to explore parts of the church only a few people have seen. Chairs + Sillas
07/28/2011The new chairs have arrived and are being made ready for use. The purchase of these chairs was made possible through the generous donations of: members of Immanuel Presbyterian Church, Larchmont Charter School, Amanuel Ethiopian Church, Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles and Interfaith Communities United for Justice and Peace. This is a wonderful example of the cooperation of groups which are part of the “Immanuel Family”. As far as I can tell, this is probably only the 3rd time we have purchased chairs in large quantity since 1929 when Immanuel moved into this building. If these chairs last as long as the other 2 times we will be using them for a very long time! A very big THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to this project. ~Rod Sprott
Ya han llegado las nuevas sillas y ya están siendo disponibles por uso. La compra de estas sillas fue posible por medio de las generosas donaciones de: miembros de la Iglesia Presbiteriana Immanuel, la escuela Larchmont Charter, la Iglesia Etíope Amanuel, el Gay Men’s Chorus de Los Angeles y el Interfaith Communities United for Justice and Peace. Este es un maravilloso ejemplo de la cooperación de grupos las cuales son parte de la “familia Immanuel.” Por lo visto, esta es la 3ra vez que hemos comprado sillas en una grande cantidad desde el 1929, cuando Immanuel se traslado a este edificio. ¡Si estas sillas duran tanto como las otras 2 veces, las estaremos usando por mucho tiempo! New chairs + Nuevas sillas
04/09/2011For some time now we have wanted to purchase new chairs for Immanuel for use in the Parlor, McVay Hall and Parish Hall. The chairs are durable, comfortable and have a 12 year guarantee! If you would like to help with this, you may make a donation. The cost of the chairs is a very reasonable $40 per chair. Donations may be made in two ways:
1. Check made payable to Immanuel Presbyterian Church, memo: chairs
2. Online donation via check or credit card here (use “Special Offering” and note “chairs”)
Por mucho tiempo, hemos querido comprar nuevas sillas para Immanuel, para usar en el Parlor, el Salón McVay y el Salón Parish. ¡Las sillas son durables, confortables y tienen una garantia por 12 años! El costo de las sillas es un muy razonable precio de $40 por silla. Donaciones pueden ser hechas en dos maneras:
1. Cheque pagable a la Iglesia Presbiteriana Immanuel, con una nota: sillas/chairs
